I traveled with my parents to Georgia this week from Tues-Fri to go to my brother's graduation of Basic Training from Fort Benning.

Austin was in the 4th Platoon and this was the group of guys he lived with for 2 months. They would sleep 50 guys in one room, all on bunk beds and each of them have lockers. So they didnt have much priviacy.

One of the tanks they used in the graduation, they had a little role playing thing, were it was like they were in a real battle zone with smoke, guns shooting blanks, and guys pretending they were firing and fighting, its hard to explain it, but trust me it was really cool!
We went to Chilie's resturant to eat on Friday, the last night before we had to take Austin back to the base. He hadnt been off the base for 2 months, so he wanted to eat some real food, different from what they ate on the base.
It was such a great trip to be able to see my brother Austin! He has changed a bit, he sits up strait, and stands very strait, He even sings, they have to all sing the Army and Infrantry song together. I think Austin was really glad that we all came to support him, there were some guys there that had no family there to see them graduate or to spend a couple days with, it was sad. Anyway Austin we are so proud of you! He now goes on to Texas to train to be a medic, so thank goodness he wont be on the front lines if he does have to go to battle, he will just be taking care of the men that get hurt out fighting. He will be in Texas at Fort San Houston which is located in San Antonio, he will be there for about 5 months, and then hopefully he will make it home if time for when i have the baby! He does get to come home for Christmas for 2 weeks, highly doubt we will see him much, since he is dating his girlfriend Karah, but we are excited to spend Christmas with him. I am know a Proud Army Sister, and have so much respect for the men who are fighting for our country! Since that is what my brother is know going to be doing! He is know can have the honor of being called "American Soldier." I am so proud and love my brother so much!

I can't believe Austin graduated from Basic training. That is so cool and exciting. I am glad you got to go back to see it. How did you do with out Harper? I am glad you had a good trip.
